Tamayouz

Excellence Award

10 Year Anniversary Publication

Muscat, Oman

Established in 2012, Tamayouz Excellence Award has grown from a local award to an internationally recognized award judged by a strong international jury board chaired by renowned academics and architects, such as Dame Zaha Hadid, DBE (2012), Angela Brad PPRIBA (2013), Jane Duncan PRIBA (2014), March Glaudemans (2015) and Dr Rasem Badran (2017).

Ahmed Al-Mallak came to us to create a 10-year publication that would encapsulate and document the last 10 years of achievements, growth, and awards.

We dedicated our energy to collecting the vast information, organizing it to be sequentially comprehensive, and designing the information so that it was visually stimulating and easily digestible.

Art Direction: Information that tells a story.

We knew that the way that we displayed the information was essential. It would entice readers to read instead of scan and help create visually interesting material that can also be quickly digested.

Each layout was deeply thought through so that it helped give justice to the theme “A Decade of Excellence.”

Publication Concept:

When working with a vast amount of information spread across many years, it was essential that we processed and analyzed the bigger picture of how the 10 years of information told the story of Tamayouz. We decided to use a timeline to help convey the passing of time and growth for this world-renowned award.

Tone of Voice

We recognized the influence and importance that this award has especially with Zaha Hadid being one of the first members to help establish the award. We constantly took a think of how we can keep the international personality of the award while maintaining consistency and proper pacing through out the publication.

Each section had visual indicators that it was a different award while maintaining design consistency throughout the publication. The publication was a total of 177 pages.
